A complex legal dispute is cooking behind the scenes at Golden Wok, a San Antonio favorite for Chinese food and dim sum experiences, according to the San Antonio Express-News. Though never married, Andrews says the two referred to each other as husband and wife, the report says.
Along with the Golden Wok brand, which has two locations in San Antonio, Andrews and Lau own a portfolio of retail property, homes and at one point, a Golden Wok offshoot and South Dakota casino. The problem for Andrews is she says she doesn't know what else she owns or has sold because she accuses Lau of using her part of their partnership to buy and sell without her knowledge, solely in his name, according to the Express-News.
The suit also says the "last straw" for Andrews was finding out that Lau was selling property to friends and family. While legal drama unfolds between the owners, generations of San Antonio customers are contemplating the impacts the feud will have on the business. An Express-News reader says the story should serve as a cautionary tale about common law marriages.
